10 Cavaliers named to the CCTimes All-Decade Team
The Carroll County Times published it’s choices for the All-Decade Football team from the 2010 through the 2019 seasons.
10 Cavaliers were selected for the team, highlighted by 5 Cavaliers who were also Carroll County Times Football Player-of-the-Year award winners, including 4 consecutive from 2013-2016.
The Cavaliers chosen to the All-Decade team represent more than a few record holders both at South Carroll and in the County over the last 10 years.
RB Ben McCarty (2010) and OL Cody Covell (2011) were the only selections from the Cavalier team that went undefeated in the regular season in 2010. QB Ben Nardo (2013) and RB Chris Gavin (2014) were also named to the team – Nardo is the current Career Passing leader at South Carroll, and Gavin is the Career & Single Season Rushing leader for South Carroll, in addition to currently being the Career Rushing leader for Carroll County.
RB Jamar Williams (2016) holds the South Carroll record for most yards in a single game, and AP Steven Baca (2015), the 5th ranked Cavalier in Career Rushing, rounds out the 5 CCTimes Player of the Year selections to the team.
Other Cavalier stand outs selected were OL Brady Scales (2013), OL Scott Eudy (2014), DB Silas Kelly (2015) & our most recent SC Football Player of the Year recipient, DL Mike Crown (2019).
