Cavs compete in the Ravens 7v7 Football Tournament
20 players from the Cavaliers’ Team 52 competed at Tuscorora HS on June 9th in the Ravens 7v7 Football Tournament.
The Cavaliers selected to the 7v7 competition team included 6 seniors, 10 juniors and 4 sophomores.
The Cavaliers faced stiff competition right from the start, forcing Oakdale into extra time before giving up a last second TD. Next up, the Cavs exchanged scores in a draw with MSD (depending on who was counting the TDs), and then battled both TJHS and the wind & rain for their third contest of the day.
The final matchup of the day was to be versus Hammond – who decided instead to leave early – so Richard Montgomery HS stepped as the opponent.
Antonio Bradford led the team with 2 TD catches for the day, and the rest were spread evenly around between WRs and RBs with 6 players catching TDs. Junior Ryder Chalk led the WRs in receptions, on a day where most of the young WR corp got first-hand experience in the speed of a 7v7 tournament.
