Britton Hastings
Britton works full time for FCA, and has been a “Character Coach” and Chaplin for other teams in the county. He also plans to assist Coach Breen with lacrosse in the spring.
Britton Hastings grew up in South Central PA, attended Shippensburg High School, and has played the game of football since 2008. He graduated high school in 2013 with various team and individual accolades. After going through the recruiting process, he feels fortunate that he landed at McDaniel College to play 4 more years – first as a safety then later switching to wide receiver. His experience at McDaniel was vastly different than High School, but he credits that time with learning so much about the game, and himself, during those years.
In college Britton got involved with organizations like FCA and Young life. He also helped with a few teams, mostly in the weight room as a strength coach while leading Young Life. Through Young life, he met his (future) wife, Morgan. They have two daughters, MaryAnn and Amelia.
“All we can control is our attitude and effort. If we do that, we can be great.” - Coach Hastings
Britton serves as an assistant coach on the Varsity staff – coaching the receiving corps on offense, and the secondary on defense. He believes that the impact of a coach goes far beyond the fields, and coaches in a way that provides a lasting impact and helps build young men into high character men of integrity.
In his free time, he enjoys all things out doors – hunting, fishing, camping, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, canoeing, snowboarding, all of these things and more have been enhanced with the start of his little family. “I’m happy to be a part of the South Carroll football team and family!”
